Arrival Procedures:

For Students not eligible for district transportation:

All Kindergarten-Grade 2-students will enter the Main Entrance located at the front of our school. Kindergarten students will be greeted by a faculty member and escorted into the All-Purpose Room.

Please know that there is limited parking available on our campus lot during arrival and dismissal times.

All Grades 3-5-Please enter the parking lot, discharge your child onto the sidewalk and continue to the exit onto Summit Lane. This will allow for children to safely enter the building at the entrance adjacent to the 300 hallway. PLEASE PROCEED SLOWLY THROUGH THE PARKING LOTS AND OBEY ALL SIGNS AND CROSSWALK INDICATORS.

Upon entering the building, students proceed directly to their classrooms. Staff will be available to escort students who are unfamiliar with the building on the first days of school. Staff will also provide supervision and security in the hallways throughout the school year.

On mornings of band, orchestra, and chorus rehearsals, the teacher in charge will open the front door for those students. Cars may enter the circular driveway to drop off children as it is before the typical start of the school day.

Also, students who attend the LAMP program may be dropped off in the front circle as it is before the typical start time and buses will not be in our front circle.

Dismissal Procedures:

For Students not eligible for district transportation:

All Kindergarten-Grade 2 will be dismissed from the front entrance of our school.

All Grades 3-5 students will be dismissed out the 300 Hallway.

All changes to typical dismissal for the students need to be submitted in writing and given to the classroom teacher. Please submit the attached dismissal schedule no later than Monday, September 11th, 2017.

Transportation: If your child is eligible for bus transportation, your bus pass is enclosed.

ALL Visitors must enter the front entrance. Parking is available in the front traffic circle from 9:30-2:50 during school hours. For our students' safety, during these times, NO cars may enter the front traffic circle when a bus is parked. Entering the circular driveway is prohibited as it must remain unobstructed to allow for bus routes during student arrival and dismissal times.

Emergency Card: Please verify the enclosed Emergency Card and return it to your child's teacher on the first day of school as it is important that we have the information on file as soon as possible.

Reporting Absences: Please inform Summit Lane prior to 9:00 A.M. if your child will be absent. Please call 434-7530 for the nurse, and leave a message on the voice mail system giving your child's name, teacher, and reason for absence. Upon return to school, please provide a written note explaining the absence.

Students will be receiving more information regarding Summit Lane's procedures and programs upon their return to school.

As we value a positive home-school connection and strive to keep you informed, please be sure to carefully review all communications sent home with your child from the Summit Lane Learning Community including your child's teacher and the Summit Lane PTA on a daily basis.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns as my goal is to provide an environment that ensures "Success for Every Student."

Sincerely,
Mr. Keith Squillacioti
Principal
