Summit Lane Kindergarteners Get Chilly With "Frozen"
Friday, January 26, 2018 the Summit Lane kindergarten classes celebrated Frozen Day! The children spent the day completing activities that were based on the Frozen theme. The children became super scientists and completed various science experiments. They learned about the three stages of matter; solids, liquids and gas. The children also learned about the water cycle. They especially loved making snowflakes from glue, salt, water and food coloring. The children dropped some color from an eye dropper at one end of the salt and watched it 'magically' spread across the snowflake. The children loved watching the color look like it was crystallizing! The children also were able to make a "snowball" out of baking soda and shaving cream. They were able to melt the "snowball" to see how the solid became a liquid. Another fun part of our day was participating in a snowman STEAM activity. The children were able to build a "snowman" from boxes in their classrooms. It was truly a magical day!
